A young Indian full of desires and longing to see the world from a Navajo tribe decided to leave home and venture out to see the world. He lives alone in many places and sees the world and its beauty on his journey.
The Indian ages and whilst he has become a man in age and in body while on his journey, his spirit has yet to settle. He meets a young woman from an Anasazi tribe and they fall in love. They find some empty cliff dwellings and decide to spend the night.
His love for the woman settles his spirit and he now no longer stirs in his mind. They eventually settle in a cliff-dwelling Pueblo village and raise a family and are now part of a community. The story then is told again through his son's eyes.
