This lovely cup was made by George Sharp Silversmith for Bailey & Company of 136 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The cup has a beaded edge on the top rim as well as the bottom. The circumference has a Floral & Leaf design in sterling silver.
Stated in 1850 that all of the silver wares they made was of the English Standard 925/1000. George Sharp worked as a silversmith from 1848 until 1850 in Philadelphia and from 1850 until 1870 in Danville, Kentucky. The inside of the cup at the bottom has a few scuff marks and the handle has two minor dings. There are two names engraved on the front "Isabelle Place Knowles and Ella Meridith Du Poy"? The cup stands 4 1/4" high and 3 1/8" opening.
