This is an original, authentic, sterling silver trophy jug from the 1927 Motion Picture Golf Tournament, standing 8.25" high, and engraved on one side, "Presented by Howard R. " Bottom of the base is stamped "Made by Sedlacek & Co. Expected moderate tarnishing and a few dents, otherwise fine condition. Hughes entered the film industry in 1927, and at that time was an avid golfer, sporting a three handicap and playing with the likes of Gene Sarazen. Hughes routinely streuctured business deals over a round of golf, including the hiring of Howard Hawks to direct'Scarface'.
