Made During the Heyday of Boston Flute Making Columbus Ave. To professional flute players the name Haynes needs no introduction. Arguably makers of the finest handmade flutes in the world! This is a solid sterling silver flute, handmade in the Columbus Ave. Shortly after George Barrere joined Haynes as Artistic Advisor.

This flute is made with drawn tone holes, an offset G and a C foot. Standard cut embouchure for the richest most warm tone imaginable. Gold springs give the action a light springy response. Probably played very little and well preserved and cared for.

Mechanically this flute was found in exceptional condition. This superb instrument was just restored to better than new condition with all new pads, new corks and felts. The design is very delicate with smaller tone holes and the Louis Lot style teardrop D# key.

Truly a carry over of the French flute makers of the late 19th century. This lovely instrument was made during the collaboration of Wm S Haynes and Verne Q Powell and many of Powell's fine craftmanship is found on the flute. Powell didn't leave the Haynes Company until 1926. A flute of this quality is truly a find! Plays so beautifully and effotlessly.

018 and standard embouchure give a real depth and personality to the tone. Sounding length 23 5/8 and plays easily at A=440 and slightly above. Included is the original vintage leather covered French style case, a new case cover, cloth and cleaning stick. If you are a serious flute player looking to upgrade or even want a second Haynes flute to use as a backup, you won't want to miss out on this deal. Perfect for any serious flutist or doubler.
